Her most fervent wish is for world prosperity & productivity,  while allowing for great success, progress & wealth,  without compromising compassion; resulting in worldwide cooperation, harmony, understanding, tolerance & peace.

Faith:  She believes very strongly that the only criterion for allowing the full benefit of “Human Rights” is that one is a human, nothing more.  She believes each and every life has value and in unique, and that we evolve as a civilization to the degree that we can show mutual respect, cooperation and consideration towards all, and grant value to all people, tolerating all viewpoints, whether or not we agree.  She also believes strongly in taking responsibility for her own actions and also for her participation in activities that contribute towards insuring that the planet will be sustainable and viable for future generations.  Although she is a great supporter of science & research, she does not see the logic of flying to other planets, while such a huge percentage of the population lingers in poverty.  She prays for a better life for all, where each person can survive, thrive, flourish and prosper; and where happiness is the ‘norm’ and where progress and improvement is continuous.

Her spiritual motto is “I have faith in faith, and I believe in believing!

Heritage:  Dr. SaLee’ Amina (formerly known as SaLee’ Louise (Aubrien) Barnes / SaLee’ Amina Mohammed), is the daughter of American citizens, the Granddaughter of American citizens, and the Great-Granddaughter of American citizens.  In fact, SaLee’ Amina has relatives who are direct descendants of the famous American Founding Father and the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, Alexander Hamilton; and are also related to the first American Folk Hero / Adventurer, Daniel Boone.  Her father was a U.S. Marine & successful businessman. Her mother was an accountant, who was also talented in the Arts.

After SaLee’ became Sir Harry’s protege’ and she was accepted into The Institute for a Sound Money Economy in London, England.  She was also one of the first female members of ‘The Metropolitan Club’ in New York City, which she had often visited with United Nations Ambassadors, and she was later accepted into Directors Association of London, England.

• She was personally hired, face-to-face, by His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan,  to handle his investments in Europe & America; who was then the man with the highest income in the world, per The Guinness Book of World Records. (In Lausanne, Switzerland – 1981)
• She received a written commendation from the King of Saudi Arabia at a time when the king had never issued a commendation to any American, nor to any woman.
• She negotiated air defense and petroleum contracts between countries – known for her extraordinary degree of ethics and integrity, even to the point of her having never accepted any commission,  inclusive of her waiving the standard (legal) 10% commissions on defense contracts.  Her clients paid via retainer agreements or per her hourly fee, or  by donating to charities an amount equal to her ‘Pro Bono’ fee.
• She negotiated some of the largest and most unique gem collections in the world, including the “Star of Peace,” the world’s largest flawless diamond – 170.49 carats, for $22 million  USD; which thereafter was re-marketed by her client, an Arab leader. (1981)
• Under President Shehu Shagari, of Nigeria, she was a consultant on the ‘Abuja’ project, moving the capital from Lagos, & coordinating all contracts.
• As an Investment Advisor, She directed multi-billions in foreign investment capital into the U.S. economy, and implemented investment programs that created thousands of jobs and revitalized communities; for which she received awards & honorariums.
• She received commendations within her careers and as a distinguished member of society, including from national and international organizations and high ranking leaders; as well as from a President, a Governor, a King and from government entities.
• She has held positions that had never previously been held by a woman.
• SaLee’ Amina has been an advisor to organizations, corporations, banks and several high-ranking individuals in senior positions (some of whom have held positions in governments); but, she has never at any time been employed by, nor paid by, any government, nor any government agency, nor any intelligence service of any country whatsoever.

Background in Investment & Finance:  SaLee’ Amina originally began advising on Private Wealth Management as a consultant to Security Pacific Bank, in Beverly Hills, California, then she was contracted in Switzerland as an advisor for international investments and gold bullion.  It happened that most of her clients had what she called “unpronounceable names,” since her dramatically profitable results had attracted some of the bank’s largest foreign investors.

SaLee’ Amina Mohammed took part in various aspects of negotiations, demonstrations and arrangements between leaders of foreign countries and manufacturers in the United States for air defense and military equipment, but she waived her commissions. In essence, as a contracted adviser, she gave away hundreds of millions of dollars in commissions that were offered to her, believing it to be a conflict of interest to her assigned task of finding the best possible equipment for the purchasing entity.

Defense industry representatives, Larry Mann, Carl Perry & Otto Glaser (of Lockheed Aerospace, Bell Helicopters & General Dynamics) stated that they had NEVER encountered any negotiator who turned down a commission, EXCEPT for SaLee’ Amina Mohammed. In fact, they said the typical problem was that negotiators fought to get more than the 10% commission allowed under U.S. law.

In 1981, SaLee’ Amina became a resident of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). After one year in the country, she was requested by is Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan to advise him on investments in the USA & Europe. This had followed seven meetings in Lausanne, Switzerland, where SaLee’ Amina was Vice President of the World Gold Association and where she was involved in international business in Geneva.

SaLee’ Amina also received a written commendation from His Majesty King Khaled of Saudi Arabia for her laudable efforts in explaining Islam to the West and correcting misunderstandings about Islam.  She was first invited Saudi Arabia in 1981, at the invitation of Her highness Princess Noaf Bint Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.  Thereafter, she visited Saudi, for the purpose of performing the ‘Umrah’ pilgrimage and also for doing business with Saudis and with employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. iN 1984, The Asian Post did an article on her and His Excellency Sheikh Zaki Yemani, then the oil Minister of Saudi Arabia.  She has appeared at numerous conferences with some of the highest level Sheikhs & Princes.

At the International Day of the Family, where she was a Speaker in Los Angeles, in 1998, she was flanked on the stage by the Imam (religious leader) of the most holy mosque, in Mecca, Saudi Arabi, and by the Imam of the second most holy mosque, in Medina, and by a member of the Saydi Royal Family of Al-Saud.  At the International Islamic Unity Conference, sponsored by the Islamic Supreme Council, she was accompanied on the stage by His Excellency Sheiikh Abdulla Al-Dhaheri, Chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Humanitarian Trust, which donated approximately $400,000,000.00 per year in humanitarian aid, worldwide. The position of Honorary Ambassador of Goodwill for Islamic & Arabian Culture was conveyed upon her, in 1998, by the Deputy Consul of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at Los Angeles.

Beginning in the business of creating custom jewelry, objects of art, portraits, sculptures, haute-couture and architectural design, which were more ‘acceptable’ roles for a woman in the Arabian Gulf at the time, she soon advanced to other types of business and investments. In the 1980s, News articles appeared which interviewed SaLee’ Amina with the director of OPEC & the oil minister for Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Sheikh Zaki Yamani.  Throughout the 1980’s, she was often called upon to negotiate oil contracts, joint ventures between international companies or defense contracts.  In 1998, the Deputy Consul of the Saudi Embassy in Los Angeles assigned her the position of Honorary Ambassador of Goodwill for Islamic Culture.

1998 ISLAMIC UNITY CONFERENCE – Dr. SaLee’ Amina Mohammed gave 8 speeches throughout the conference.  As an Ambassador of Islamic Culture, Dr. SaLee’ Amina Mohammed appeared on several television & Radio shows, as well as on Internet & Cable stations.  As an investment advisor, she was often written about in newspapers &  magazines.  Feeling multi-cultural by nature, and believing in the value of respecting diversity, her activities as an Ambassador came as second nature to SaLee’ Amina.  While the world was shocked by the events of 9/11, SaLee’ Amina was repeatedly invited by Fox News to comment on television about the situation and to provide focus and insight during the tragedy.

She was interviewed on television & radio stations, and in newspapers & magazines, where she explained, defended & promoted understanding, acceptance and tolerance of the Islamic religion and Arabian countries, especially Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

One result was the conversion to Islam by 1,576 former atheists and agnostics. She has never been paid anything whatsoever for any of her service as an Honorary Ambassador:  In fact, she has personally financed all of the activities, costs, materials and expenses for over 20 years.

While others occasionally donate small amounts of their income, SaLee’ Amina consistently generously contributed half of her income directly to charities, non-profits and humanitarian projects on five continents.

In 1986, SaLee’ Amina began The Muslim Service Bureau, which supported 23 destitute women & children. She was sole provider for these families, except for one small donation from The Regents Park Mosque.

She spends whatever free time may be available as a volunteer for worthy causes and to assist people in need.

• وضع حياتها في خطر لإنقاذ حياة الآخرين: خلال الحرب بين إيران والعراق ، قامت سلا أمينة محمد بإجلاء شخصيات لاجئة من أطفال وأطفال من منطقة الحرب على متن طائرتها الخاصة ، خلال رحلات متعددة ؛ هبوطهم بأمان في دبي ، حيث يمكنهم الحصول على رحلات طيران متصلة ببلدان أخرى. في 2018-2019 ، تطوعت عدة مرات للمساعدة في جهود الإغاثة خلال كوارث الحرائق البرية في ولاية كاليفورنيا.

Public Speaker on Islamic Culture, and Interfaith Expert

In 2018, she was a Speaker at the Interfaith World Peace Seminar in Los Angeles.

In 2017, she was a guest on television in Utah, where she explained Islam and its comparison to Christianity & Judaism; and where she defended Sharia law against criticism and explained the numerous points of agreement as regards Jesus, in Islam.

In 2016, she was a liaison who assisted in coordinating guests of the Interfaith Conference in Abu Dhabi, which was reported in the official magazine of the Mormon (Latter Day Saint) religion, “Ensign.”

In 2012 and 2014, at the Mormon Tabernacle, she was a featured Speaker at the “Prayer Over the City,” where she represented Islam and read from the Quran, following a speech about the similarities between the Muslim and Christian religions.

In 2002, she was interviewed by The Jewish Journal, in Los Angeles, after she was invited as an honorary guest at a Jewish synagogue, during their observance of Yom Kappur.

In 1998, she gave 8 speeches at the Islamic Unity Conference in Washington D.C., with an accent on the fact that Islam, Christianity and Judaism are “Sister Religions.”

In 1994, she gave classes in Islamic culture and history to multi-denominational children, which included Native American Indians, Buddhists, various denominations of Christians and Agnostics.

In 1993, she read the Quran at a televised Christmas mass at a Catholic church in Phoenix, Arizona, and the verses of the annunciation & virgin birth of Jesus were chanted to over 3,000 attendees at the church and outdoor assembly, with millions watching the event on T.V.

In 2002 – 2004, she gave classes in Islamic Culture to non-Muslim adults, who were surprised to find that their personal understanding of faith & spirituality were exactly similar to Islam.

In 1985, she was accompanied by the Imam of the Regents Park Mosque of London at an Interfaith conference in England, organized by a local Jewish Rabbi.

A LIFELONG ACHIEVER: She was a member of the National Honor Society, National Forensics League President, Debate Team winner, Speech Team winner, local newspaper journalist, High School yearbook staff, French Club Vice President, Art Club Vice President, National Thespian Society President, Drama Club President, American Field Service (Foreign Exchange Students), Science Club, Varsity & Junior Varsity Cheerleader, editor of High School newsletter ‘The Underground Voice’ & on staff of ‘The Red & White’ Yearbook.

COLLEGE INTERNSHIPS: Political Science, Law, Business. Also was International Business teaching assistant.  Also assisted a professor at the Harvard University School of Divinity in research for a book on Muslim scholars.

YOUTH MEMBERSHIPS / WORK: Always respecting diversity and Civil Rights, SaLee’ joined the American Indian Movement and the African American Culture Club, in 1969, at the time being the only white woman to do so. She was a youth volunteer on the John F. Kennedy Presidential campaign, and later, on the Robert Kennedy Presidential campaign. Throughout High School, SaLee’ worked part time – as a local newspaper journalist, as a fundraiser for the JFK library, at “The Little Giant Grocery,” at the Bowman Home for the Elderly and at Pottowatome Camp for the Disabled. Upon her graduation from High School, SaLee’ was a student delegate to the United Nations, where she visited U.N. sessions, interviewed international diplomats & attended U.N. social functions.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES: Facing death on more than one occasion, SaLee’ was blinded for many months and severely injured in a car accident, at the peak of her career as a professional artist, art teacher and chairperson of an Arts department at ‘Ideal Community Schools’, in California.  Although she was an innocent passenger in a stopped car, she received no compensation for her injuries from those responsible for nearly ending her life. Eventually, after recovering and regaining her vision, she changed career paths from the Arts to Business, Law, Investments. Later, she became an adviser to several high ranking personalities and was assigned a position as Honorary Ambassador.

NEAR DEATH AGAIN: Later, after achieving a very high level of success as an international investment and business adviser, she suffered a nearly fatal case of ‘Rhabdomyolysis,’ a very severe and rare disease which attacks & decomposes muscle tissue throughout the body; after being prescribed the medication ‘Lipitor.’ Several doctors’ prognosis was terminal. For 4 & ½ years, she was semi-paralyzed, in a motorized wheelchair, and was told she would likely never walk again; and it could be fatal. She received no compensation from those who were responsible for causing her disability. Treating herself with all natural remedies and having very strong faith, she overcame the disease that almost claimed her life. Never ceasing to help others, she has continuously maintained a rigid schedule of positive activities & humanitarian efforts.
